How it plays and feels

Hold the two halves and rotate them against each other, feeling each transition through your fingers. Similar round outlines conceal three different feedback approaches.

Magnets: OG, Mini, Nano and Devil

Magnets provide discrete stops. Mini and Nano use floating magnetic retention; Nano reduces the earlier six-detent arrangement to five. Devil uses a retained central post and bearing. Diameter, thickness and material still affect the grip.

Mechanical Gen 1: small detents

A tungsten-carbide ball and long spring provide feedback. The maker describes smaller detents, moderate sound and a profile that offers finger purchase. These are qualitative descriptions, not measured sound levels.

Noise Gen 2: turn and press

The central 6 mm bead rolls and presses as well as the body twisting. Spring placement changes between detent and squeak modes. One spring-ball pair is the lighter default; more pairs increase force. Balanced placement also permits finger spinning.

Differences between generations

Choose the feedback mechanism first, then compare diameter, thickness, weight and surface. Gen 3 does not replace every magnetic Milk Cap.

The 2020 OG / PPB is 40 x 8 mm. Standard Mini is 36.5 x 10 mm, with listed weights of 64.9 g for steel, 39.6 g for titanium and 55.4 g for zirconium. Dark Matter Mini is 38 x 10 mm and 2021 Glow Mini is 38.5 x 10 mm; standard Mini dimensions do not cover these variants.

Nano is 31.8 mm across. The steel standard and 2022 versions are each listed at 43 g, and the zirconium versions at 36 g. Mechanical Gen 1 is approximately 35 x 10 mm: steel 53 g, zirconium 46 g and superconductor 49 g. Similar size does not imply shared internals.

Noise Gen 2 uses a PTFE bearing and a side-oriented layout. Gen 3 returns to a large bearing like Gen 1, moves to a vertical layout and locks with a small bearing. Placement changes dense or discrete feedback. The maker names Ruida 0.25/0.3 springs and 3 mm balls for the ringing setup without defining the spring-number units.

The maker links the Gen 3 changes to reports of PTFE debris and tightening in winter. This explains the design revision without claiming every Gen 2 fails or that Gen 3 needs no maintenance.

Official Nano comparison: plain steel and dark zirconium, engraved 2022 steel and zirconium, and patterned zirconium. Rainbow prize excluded.

Official Mechanical Gen 1 comparison: silver steel and dark stonewashed zirconium; opposite faces do not create editions.

Materials and finishes by part

Bodies, inlays, skulls and press beads can use different materials. A decorative name may also be a color label.

Mini composites

Ring and flame Mokume, patterned Zircuti, superconductor and tungsten copper retain their individual maker records. Woven Timascus Pearlescent is a color name, not proof of shell inlays. The two straight-pattern Zircuti colors share the 18-piece scope, rather than adding up to 36.

Joker and Buggy

OneBean Joker uses laser engraving and copper/brass decoration on steel or titanium, with a custom 6 mm copper nose bead for delivered units. Black Joker uses a zirconium body and cupronickel eyes. Steel/titanium Buggy has brass/copper inlays; the copper one-off uses brass and cupronickel.

Devil body and skull

Launch versions pair steel with a copper skull or sandblasted zirconium with brass. Later all-zirconium, copper/zirconium and Zircuti/zirconium versions retain separate part materials. Zirconium skulls are heat-blackened and hand-polished on raised areas; the bodies have their own polished finishes.

Fire Peng metal and shell

Stonewashed titanium pairs with a copper/cupronickel bird; polished copper with 925 silver/brass; both zirconium finishes with copper/brass. Titanium has white luminous shell on the back, zirconium green luminous shell. Shell in the front logo is optional artisan work and is not factory-installed by default.

Included parts and separate options

Check the generation and release when reading contents. Pictured accessories, launch gifts and separate kits are not a universal standard package.

The 2022 Nano poster lists a box, the body with magnets and bearing fitted, and a sticker. That list is not extended to every OG, Mini, Noise or Devil batch.

Mechanical Gen 1 has one tungsten-carbide ball and one long spring installed. Included spares are one ball, two long springs and three shims. The rotor-simulation kit with three balls and three short springs is a separate option.

The six-cap PC Mini case is sold separately; the 2020 launch offered one with six Minis. Devil had a time-limited leather-case gift through midnight on August 30, 2021, followed by separate purchase. Later inclusion is not assumed.

The Minerva Box vegetable-tanned top-grain leather keychain is a separate Noise accessory. Remove the middle cover and press bead to attach the cord; compatibility is not extended to other Milk Caps.

The two collaborators document a Fire Peng box, body, spare springs and balls, collaboration card, YOLO 2026 collectible card and ACEdc sticker. Any added shell in the front logo needs a separate arrangement.

Choosing a configuration

A useful order is feedback type, grip size, documented weight, then material and artwork. The following suggestions follow the documented structural differences.

For magnetic rhythm

Start with OG, Mini, Nano or Devil. Nano at 31.8 mm is more compact than standard 36.5 mm Mini; approximately 34 mm Devil adds skull styling. These size comparisons do not guarantee a fit for every hand.

For adjustable mechanical feedback

Gen 1 offers small ball-and-spring detents; Noise Gen 2 adds a rolling press bead and squeak mode; Gen 3 moves adjustment to a vertical layout. Noise is not designed around silence, so try its sound before choosing it for a quiet setting.

When weight matters

Among the documented plain Gen 2 materials, PEI is 23 g, zirconium 51 g and steel 62 g. These values cover the specific poster configurations; engraved, collaborative or modified pieces need their own weights.

For artwork and finishes

Choose Joker, Buggy, Halloween or Fire Peng by their mechanical subline first, then compare inlays, engraving and finishes. For edition counts, distinguish initial batches, elastic limits, regional allocations and shared annual totals.
