Slide the covers, feel the spring-loaded detents
Top-B is a mechanical slider. The groove plate moves relative to the lower cover, pressing balls against their springs. As the balls pass through the changing groove profile, the fingers feel the resulting detents.
Back-and-forth sliding
Hold the lower cover and move the upper cover through a stroke, then reverse it. The essential action is relative movement between the covers.
Detents and squeaks
The maker distinguishes detent, squeak and long-slide plates. Plate type is a useful guide to feedback, while the spring, ball and retaining-block combination also affects the result.
PEEK describes a part
Selected Corian Bubble and RAIN configurations use PEEK internals. Brass/titanium S.G and zirconium KONG use other plates. Shell material alone does not identify the plate.
Hold the lower cover and keep the upper cover free to move.

Identify the installed parts before tuning
The 2022 guide treats the groove plate, retaining block, balls, springs and spring caps as five tuning variables. Its strength labels describe the combinations documented then; they are not measurements ranking every later edition.
Later notations such as 0.23x4.4, 0.23x4.7, 2.778 and 2.9 are retained as written. This guide does not add millimeters when the source omits a unit, or treat those parts as automatic substitutes for the explicitly stated 3 mm and 2.5 mm parts in the earlier guide.
A moderate example
Four 3 mm tungsten-carbide balls with short springs, the new stainless groove plate and a stainless retaining block form the guide’s moderate combination.
A lighter example
Two short springs and two 3 mm tungsten-carbide balls arranged diagonally, with the new stainless groove plate and block, form the documented weak combination.
A stronger example
Long conical springs, four 3 mm tungsten-carbide balls, the old titanium groove plate and a titanium block form the very-strong combination. This is a preference option, not a universal best setup.
What a spring cap changes
The guide places the cap between spring and ball to reduce catching caused by a protruding spring. Check the generation of the spring and plate when choosing a combination.

Read the shell construction and the internal plate
These branches retain the mechanical-feedback principle while changing grip surfaces, visual themes and parts. They are not a single numbered upgrade path that replaces every earlier design.
Bubble
Bubble’s raised surface also invites rubbing with the fingertips. Color can coincide with a functional difference: pink and blue Corian list PEEK detent plates; white and yellow list PEEK squeak plates.
RAIN
Recessed strips and dots echo falling rain and give the fingers a textured surface. The documented configuration has a PEEK detent plate and block. Regular titanium retains blue in stonewashed recesses; the Mokuti edition contrasts inlays with a polished body.
KONG
Cutouts on both faces and split covers define KONG. The maker attributes reduced mass and more penetrating sound to this construction, without giving numerical weights for every material. The zirconium edition separately lists a zirconium dense-detent plate.
S.G
Angular lines and the snake-game motif identify S.G. In the 2025 update, brass and titanium use a stainless dense-detent plate and tungsten-carbide balls; black and green zirconium use a black PEEK dense-detent plate and ceramic balls.

A material name may describe just one part
Electrode, JEANS and annual themed configurations especially benefit from reading materials by part. Inlays, bottom plates and replaceable internal plates do not automatically share the body material.
Two Electrode pairings
The 2024 Electrode has a stainless body, brass inlays and a PEEK squeak plate, with a stated 51.6 g weight and 200-piece edition. The 2025 Copper Electrode pairs stainless steel with copper, 299 worldwide. The earlier weight and plate specification are not transferred to it.
Five JEANS materials
JEANS combines a titanium body with copper, brass and stainless exterior inlays, plus a zirconium bottom plate. Its zipper-like central pieces are removable. The worldwide quantity of 99 belongs specifically to this edition.
Ji and seven-color G10
The Ji specification image lists steel, titanium and zirconium, 299 each, without itemizing inlay materials. The seven-color G10 image calls it a regular edition. A shared photograph identifies the seven colors; its internals are not separately specified.
Themed engraving
Crystallized-titanium Valentine covers carry 18 hearts above and a clover design below. V5 Horseshoe uses stacked three-color wood grain: the maker lists honghuali wood, cherry and black walnut with steel and zirconium, without allocating every metal part.

Separate complete sliders, replacement parts and bases
The maker’s component lists describe the specified configuration. Extra spares, tools and packaging are not inferred from photographs, and a multi-item photograph does not establish a set.
Zirconium KONG and Christmas G10
Both list one body, four 0.23x4.4 springs and four 2.778 ceramic balls. KONG lists one zirconium dense-detent plate; Christmas G10 lists one PEEK dense-detent plate.
Valentine G10
Blueberry and Cherry list one body, four 0.23x4.7 springs, four 2.778 ceramic balls and one PEEK detent plate. This list is not transferred to Lemon or seven-color G10.
Separately documented parts
The 2022 guide separately lists plates, blocks, balls, springs and caps. The 2023 announcement adds PEEK detent, squeak and long-slide plates. The accessory archive retains the date and compatibility boundary of each source.
Display base
The Top-B base combines aluminum and a brass logo, in polished or stonewashed finishes; each began with 99 in 2025. It is a separate display accessory, not an assumed inclusion with every slider.

Start with the feel and appearance you want
These suggestions follow documented construction; they are not a hands-on ranking. Without consistent weight and sound measurements across editions, no material can be named the universal best.
Start with detents
Start with a RAIN configuration that explicitly lists a PEEK detent plate and block, then choose its shell color or inlay. This lets you compare appearance while keeping the documented internal arrangement in view.
Interested in dense squeak feedback
Consider white or yellow Corian Bubble, or the 2024 steel/brass Electrode: each explicitly lists a squeak plate. Pink and blue Corian are not merely recolors with the same plate.
Prefer cutouts and sound
KONG directly addresses this preference through cutouts and split covers. The maker describes more penetrating sound, but this does not establish that one material is always louder or lighter.
Prefer motifs and material combinations
For geometric or mechanical motifs, look at S.G or Ji; for multiple inlay materials, JEANS; for colorful themes, G10. Name the exact configuration and desired plate in a sourcing request, then confirm the actual parts included.

Distinguish first batches, elastic additions and edition limits
Quantities belong to particular configurations and regional scopes. Daily show allocations, per-member purchase limits and first batches are not automatically final production totals.
For example, regular titanium RAIN lists a first batch of 299 and a second of 500; these are not added into a lifetime edition limit. Zirconium Bubble began with 100 before elastic ordering, so it is not described as only 100 ever made. Valentine G10’s 260 is a domestic allocation per color; Ji’s 30 is a daily show allocation per material.
The directly read official text gives 51.6 g for the 2024 steel/brass Electrode. Other configuration weights, product dimensions and the seven-color G10 internal plate list are not estimated from appearance.
