Acacia WoodStorage and display for the EDC desk
In these EDC designs, acacia wood gives a collection somewhere to live: panels stand upright, boxes stack, and small parts stay on a tray while a fidget is adjusted. The grain is only one part of the experience. The structure and contact surfaces matter just as much.
BPMODS display stands, GD EDC storage boxes and Carry’s owl tray all have maker descriptions identifying acacia wood. Each puts it to a different use: stacking display frames, a box that doubles as a work tray, or a tray paired with leather pads.

BPMODS introduced its display stand in November 2025 with three parts: a base, a level for raised panels, and a level for bodies with flat panels. A stack uses one base, and either type of frame can be added above it. The metal and colourful panels in the photograph belong to the displayed toys, not to the wooden stand’s material specification.
The maker lists the base at 11.3 × 11.3 × 1.2 cm and 129 g. Both frame types measure 10.5 × 10.5 × 6 cm: the raised-panel level is listed at 264 g and the body level at 241 g. These are specifications for the individual components, not for the whole tower or bare pieces of wood.

Raised-panel levels remain open. Levels for bodies and flat panels have magnetically attached acrylic covers. The transparent cover is a separate component.

The raised-panel level accommodates protruding panels of varying thickness in an open design, with four pairs per level. The body level holds eight bodies with flat panels for Jiugong or Price Tag, behind magnetically attached acrylic covers.
That construction determines what will fit. The maker explicitly says the body level cannot hold raised panels because of the recess depth. The wood name cannot replace information about panel thickness, slots and cover clearance.

Carry’s owl tray alongside other tray designs. The maker identifies the owl tray as acacia wood and offers a separate leather-pad combination.

Carry introduced its owl tray in July 2024, identifying acacia wood and giving dimensions of 390 × 270 mm. The tray could be bought with leather pads. The maker also describes magnetic areas at the owl’s eyes to help retain small springs during adjustments.
Leather pads cover the main working areas in the photographs. They may be the surfaces actually touching a fidget, while the magnetic function comes from the design. It is not an inherent magnetic property of the wood. Carry’s descriptions of hardness and reduced cracking are not accompanied by test conditions, so they are not treated here as guarantees for all acacia products.
GD Qishang: turn a storage box into a work tray
GD EDC’s July 2024 Qishang box uses complementary locating profiles to stack. The maker describes a 210 × 60 mm work area on the reverse, allowing the box to be turned over and used as a tray with a leather pad.
The release lists North American black walnut and acacia wood as two material options, with four applications of finish. Wood options, finish and lining are separate details. A photograph without a material label cannot be assigned to either wood from its colour alone.
Keep the wood name without inventing a species
This guide follows the three makers’ acacia-wood descriptions. Their releases do not give botanical names, moisture content or a common timber grade. The products therefore cannot be assigned to one precise species or given a shared set of density and hardness values.
For this kind of accessory, check recess dimensions, contact surfaces, covers and stacking arrangements first. Care also depends on the finish, leather, acrylic and magnets in the assembly. GD’s four-coat finish description belongs to its storage box and should not be transferred to the other two makers.
