Dutch Glow MaterialFrom luminous exteriors to rings inside metal spinner buttons
Dutch glow material is a commercial material name used in these product sources. It can form the luminous exterior of Guichi Mini or sit inside the cut-outs of a metal spinner button. The product name, metal components and glow material describe different parts of the build; a bright photograph alone is not a measurement of brightness or afterglow duration.
CarbonWaves describes its carbon-fibre, glow and hybrid materials as made in the Netherlands, and lists TurboGlow plates and rods. ClownOrange explicitly connects the Chinese community name translated here as Dutch glow material with CarbonWaves in its SODA release. Other products retain their own makers’ material descriptions; this does not independently certify their supply chains.
This guide follows appearance, structure and configuration. Undisclosed resin, luminous ingredients and proportions remain unknown. Beads and accessories described only as luminous are not automatically assigned to the same Dutch glow material.

Guichi Mini: colour changes within the same form
Identified in the source as Aqua. This photograph shows the luminous appearance, not standardized brightness or afterglow measurements.
MCZHI Guichi Mini retains a toothed outer profile while presenting different luminous colours. The release lists Blue, Aqua and Ultra Green as new colours for 2022 and describes the material used then as a new Dutch-glow formulation.
The claims of greater brightness and longer duration belong to the maker’s description of that release. The article provides no reproducible charging conditions, brightness curve or common measurement method. Exposure and surroundings also affect how photographs look, so they help identify colour and outline rather than rank performance.
Meiying buttons: metal outside, a glow ring within
Tangbao with the Meiying button in daylight: Dutch glow material belongs to the optional inner ring; the metal button and spinner body are separate components.
The Tangbao spinner release also introduces Meiying buttons with a stated diameter of 24.5 mm, which can be paired with a custom Dutch-glow ring. The metal button, internal ring and Tangbao body are distinct parts; adding glow does not change the body’s material identity.
A later Meiying article makes the arrangement explicit: an optional dedicated ring inside the perforated button creates the light-through effect. The metal components come in stainless steel, titanium alloy and zirconium alloy, with different finishes. Extended screws and shims are included. For other brands, the source says that the buttons should theoretically fit most spinners using 24.5 mm buttons; matching diameter alone is not a compatibility guarantee.
Where the light appears reveals the structure
The Meiying light-through effect shown in the same article. The glow ring sits inside the perforated metal component; the complete Tangbao is not made from glow material.
In the luminous photograph, light emerges through the circular row of openings in the Meiying button. The metal colour and surface finish seen in daylight belong to the outer component; the internal glow ring adds another visible layer.
The glow ring is an optional dedicated part. A metal button with the same outline is not proof that every finish comes with a ring fitted, and other perforated buttons are not automatically compatible.
SODA: colour choices also carried delivery conditions
ClownOrange explicitly names CarbonWaves in the Netherlands in its luminous SODA release and explains Dutch glow material as a community nickname. Several colours were offered, but Sunshine orange and Yellow had been delayed and were not shown in that article’s product display. Their delivery schedule differed from materials already available.
The maker also describes an internal component intended to prevent stripped threads and polishing of the inner plates, attributing reduced friction to this revision. These are SODA-specific construction and finishing statements. The second-generation mechanical inner plates mentioned as under development were not part of an already-delivered configuration.
Little Butterfly 2.0: glow buttons or PC buttons
NewBee’s Little Butterfly 2.0 removes the cut-outs from its two lobes and revises and thins the buttons. The maker calls the luminous material CarbonWaves glow and assigns colours at random. Its release distinguishes a configuration called full glow from one with PC buttons.
The maker warns of a higher risk of cracking the glow buttons during machining and play, and recommends the PC-button configuration more strongly for active use. This is a choice tied to these small, thin components and their configuration, not a general strength rating for all luminous materials or all PC parts.
Read the name, component and viewing conditions together
First check whether the source explicitly says Dutch glow material or CarbonWaves, then locate it in the exterior or a smaller ring. Check the buttons, fasteners and inner plates separately for other materials. These distinctions explain how the particular product is built.
The photographs here show shape and the location of transmitted light. Where the source has no standardized test, the guide does not add an afterglow duration, luminous formulation or general strength claim.
