Frequently asked questions

Does a brand appearing in the Wiki prove that an item is genuine?

A maker profile identifies a documented studio and its related designs; it does not authenticate every item offered under that name. Compare the exact item, configuration and available source evidence. Similar names or photographs alone do not settle identity. Check the actual listing and seek clarification about any mismatch. How identity evidence is assessed

Which brand should I start with?

Start with a documented design that matches the action and setup you want, then explore its maker. A brand can span several mechanisms: LAUTIE’s CHOC is mechanical, while Jackpot uses magnetic feedback and rotating number axles. Brand identity alone is therefore a poor substitute for checking the particular family and configuration. LAUTIE profile · Find a family

What does a limited-edition number actually tell me?

Read the number together with the maker’s statement for that configuration. A documented edition limit, an individual serial number and an event allocation describe different things. CHOC records distinguish event allocations from total edition size. A number alone does not establish authenticity, material, rarity across the entire family or future value.
