Copper Cloud ResinFrom coloured surfaces to mechanical modules: copper, resin and moving parts

Copper Cloud Resin combines copper and resin, but the product name does not reveal a complete formulation. Start with the coloured surfaces of the spring Lucky Candy, then explore separate mechanical modules, two finishes on Price Tag, and the different metal inserts on Shangshangqian.

Pale linear patterns and coloured resin create a distinctive appearance. In a finished product, the material itself still needs to be distinguished from polishing or a surface seal, and from the balls, sliding components and metal inserts assembled around it.

SECTION 01

Read the copper form and resin description in each source

Copper Cloud Resin is the material name used by the product sources on this page. BPMODS describes its material as copper foil mixed with resin, explaining that resin passes through small openings in the foil. KAIS also explicitly describes a copper-and-resin mixture for its spring edition and identifies BPMODS as its supplier.

GD uses the description “copper-wire resin (Copper Cloud)” for Shangshangqian. Copper foil, copper wire and the linear patterns visible in a finished object are not interchangeable identifications based on appearance alone. These sources do not disclose the copper grade, resin chemistry or mixing ratio.

SECTION 02

Spring Lucky Candy: linear patterns in a light finished slider

Copper and resin form the appearance of this Lucky Candy release; the brand identifies BPMODS as the material supplier.

KAIS offered the spring Copper Cloud Resin Lucky Candy in Fresh Green, Clear Sky Blue, Cherry Blossom Pink-White and Steady Brown. Coloured surfaces and pale linear patterns shape its appearance; four colours do not establish four different resin formulations. The stated 21 g is the weight of this finished slider.

The brand notes that CNC machining can leave slight roughness and that the pieces are thoroughly sanded before delivery. It also limits the intended use to normal play and advises against high-intensity use. These are processing and use statements for this release, not an impact-resistance guarantee for every Copper Cloud Resin product.

SECTION 03

Into the tracks: a separate mechanical module

Lucky Candy mechanical modules come in dense and detent versions; the resin components work with balls and Teflon.

A later Lucky Candy release offered separate Copper Cloud Resin mechanical modules in dense and detent versions, described as compatible with the whole Lucky Candy range. The source lists balls and Teflon as the sliding arrangement, with two offset tracks. Resin forms the module, while other components remain part of its moving contact surfaces.

The modules install without screws or glue and launched in the four spring colours. The earlier article only previewed a single-layer mechanical panel; this later announcement describes the separate module release. The brand still advises against dropping it onto the floor. The earlier 21 g finished-slider figure does not apply to one module.

SECTION 04

Price Tag: two finishes for a body and its inserts

BPMODS uses Copper Cloud Resin for both the body and exterior inserts in its Cuicuiban Price Tag series. The brand describes lightly polishing the body to retain a matte texture, while giving the inserts a treatment it calls “fengjing”, or surface sealing, for a more translucent appearance. It does not disclose the chemistry of that treatment.

The maker links this combination to contrasting tactile and sound experiences. These are Price Tag design statements. The same article also covers a 7075 aluminium body; its blasting, anodizing, ball sizes and spring dimensions must remain with that aluminium configuration.

A later batch announcement replaced the steel balls with zirconia ceramic balls. It also warns against overtightening the metal screws in the resin body because the threads can strip. Changing the balls changes a moving component, not the Copper Cloud Resin identity of the body.

The series had also trialled a K-board body made with aluminium mesh and resin. The maker did not offer that body for public sale because the two materials did not form a sufficiently stable combination and could break apart. This is a counterexample involving a different reinforcement, not a report of the same failure in Copper Cloud Resin.

SECTION 05

Shangshangqian: a resin body with different metal inserts

GD EDC uses “copper-wire resin (Copper Cloud)” for the Shangshangqian body. The regular configuration pairs translucent black Copper Cloud with white-copper inserts; the Huoqihong version pairs its red body with red-copper inserts. Body and inserts have distinct roles, so the metal inserts should not inherit the Copper Cloud name.

The article says inserts are interchangeable across the Shangshangqian range. The factory setup has three stages in each direction, six over the full travel. The brand also notes random gold-coloured patterns, machining marks in the rear groove, and one or two small holes on the inner face. These are individual and machining conditions to consider for this product.

SECTION 06

Choose the component and finish before the colour

First establish whether Copper Cloud Resin forms a body, an insert or a mechanical module. Then check whether the surface is sanded, lightly polished or sealed, and identify the balls, sliding parts and fastening method. Together, these details describe the configuration more clearly than a colour name alone.

A later Price Tag notice explains that a colour previously called silver or white had been mistakenly labelled grey by an employee. To avoid confusion from relabelling, the brand adopted grey as the name. That is a naming correction for the same colour, not a new material category. Where resin chemistry, copper grade and proportions are undisclosed, they remain unknown.
