CorianColour, pattern and the structure beneath
Corian brings more than another colour to EDC. It can form a smooth matte cover or a patterned shell, or work with a separate filling material to create a design. Tracks, middle layers and internal cartridges often have their own material choices.
Look at the exterior, then look inside: Xiaomogui’s 304 stainless-steel middle layer, CHOC’s PEEK cartridge and Top-B’s PEEK fixed blocks show why a material name needs a specific part attached to it.
This guide starts with the makers’ use of the Corian name and distinguishes their material statements from Corian’s official technical background. Photographs show appearance and configuration; they do not independently identify hidden parts or a precise resin-and-mineral formulation.

Xiaomogui: matte covers around a metal middle layer

Open it to see two different material roles
MCZHI describes Xiaomogui’s construction directly: Corian upper and lower covers with a matte finish, and a 304 stainless-steel middle layer. The closed blue example shows the broad colour surface; the opened green one makes the relationship between the covers and internal plates easier to see.
The release offered green and blue, limited to 60 pieces of each. Those are announced batch quantities, not current stock. MCZHI states that it used imported DuPont Corian; that remains the maker’s sourcing statement, rather than independent authentication of each piece.
The maker attributes a distinctive sound to the combination of Corian covers and stainless-steel middle layer. It also describes glue-free magnet retention and a design that keeps the beads from falling out. Sound comes from the assembly, so the material name alone cannot predict it. The article mentions polishing later to personal preference, but provides no disassembly or processing parameters; it is not a general care procedure for finished products.
CHOC: a new pattern, and a different fit

LAUTIE gives these two Corian CHOC versions candy-inspired names, translated here descriptively as Sesame Candy and White Nougat. Fine particles and larger patches give the elongated shape different visual rhythms. The maker presents them as soft-looking, warm-feeling candy styles; these are product descriptions, not measured thermal properties or a tactile ranking.
Both use PEEK internal cartridges. The article describes screw-free construction, components that interlock to limit movement, and replaceable internal parts for exploring different feedback. It does not specify the material of the central CHOC-lettered inserts, so neither those inserts nor the cartridges should inherit the shell’s material name.
This Corian version is wider than the metal version sold at the time. As a result, the metal top cover is not compatible with the Corian base. When choosing or replacing parts, the version matters more than the shared CHOC name. LAUTIE also warns that these pieces may have small surface pinholes; that is a statement about this product, not a universal defect standard for all Corian surfaces.
Top-B: a green exterior, with separately specified tracks
Metal Toys Dz identifies the green Top-B Bubble version as Bubble Corian and lists PEEK separately for its internal plate. The later explanation specifies that both the fixed blocks and tracks in this release are made from PEEK. Corian provides the exterior, while the mechanical contact parts have another material.
The article’s comparison with Teflon-like smoothness, along with its wear and fatigue claims, appears in the PEEK discussion. It should not be reassigned to Corian or treated as an institutional test result. This example shows that an exterior material update can accompany an internal material change; any difference in feel cannot be attributed to the shell alone.
CHEERS 60%: a dark base with separate epoxy colours
For this CHEERS 60% release, MTAK names the base material as DuPont Corian under the name Yinhe Xingyu. The black-grey base is paired with four colours of epoxy-resin filling. White, orange, blue and pink lettering therefore carries a different material statement from the base.
This offers another way to read a colour scheme: establish whether a coloured area comes from the base pattern, an insert or an added filling. The source explicitly identifies epoxy, so the four fills need not become four Corian materials. The Chinese colour name also does not establish an official manufacturer colour code.

A patterned sample, not a complete delivery record
The Pig Nose announcement documents production problems with its ceramic version. The maker reports missing material at the surface and polishing scratches that affected acceptable output, and arranged a Corian version as an alternative while customers waited. This is a particular production history, not a general claim that Corian is better than ceramic.
The article announces four colours but explicitly says the photograph shows only an Oreo Cream sample. It shows how the speckled pattern sits on the rounded Pig Nose shape. It cannot establish that all four colours were pictured or delivered at that time. The article does not identify every internal component’s material either.
Material background: colour and visible wear
Corian’s official product overview describes Solid Surface sheet as a composite of approximately one-third acrylic resin, or PMMA, and two-thirds natural minerals, principally alumina trihydrate. This describes the sheet material covered by that bulletin. An EDC maker’s use of the Corian name does not mean this guide has authenticated the exact grade or supply batch of each object.
The official material information states that colour and pattern run through the thickness. It also notes that dark, heavily pigmented colours show scratches, dust and everyday wear more readily than lighter, textured colours. Colour therefore affects how use marks appear, as well as how a new piece looks in a photograph.
A surface that can be refinished is not permission to sand an assembled slider. Cover thickness, clearances, inserts and internal metal or plastic parts can differ. Official countertop repair instructions are not a direct procedure for these EDC pieces; establish the particular version and its maker’s finished-product guidance first.
