PET and PETGFrom luminous inlays to 3D-printed fidgets
PET-related materials can appear as inlays on a metal fidget or, in the modified form PETG, as printed parts. The material name makes more sense when you know which part it describes.
SEKI's ice-patterned snake finish and Yuanhe's Huixiang show two very different uses: colourful inlays on titanium alloy, and a printed plastic fidget with a long sliding control. They do not share a single set of finished-product properties.
This guide follows PET and its PETG branch while keeping the source names distinct. The G in PETG denotes glycol modification; a part described only as PET should not be relabelled PETG.

Ice-patterned snake: PET in a custom surface
In its January 2026 introduction to Fengren 1.1, SEKI gathered several custom finishes from other makers. TIDESHARK's ice-patterned snake option lists a luminous PVC treatment with an ice pattern and luminous PET inlays. This describes the custom surface; the titanium-alloy Fengren body is listed separately.
The paired photographs show both sides, with purple, blue and pale-green details inside the snake-scale pattern. The article does not map individual areas to PET or PVC, or disclose the luminous additives, inlay thickness or proportions.
The source establishes the material names and who supplied this finish. The photographs establish its appearance in light, not brightness, glow duration or wear resistance. Care instructions for other custom finishes in the same article cannot automatically be transferred to this one.
Huixiang: a printed PETG fidget with two actions

Yuanhe's March 2026 introduction to Huixiang explicitly specifies 3D-printed PETG in grey marble-pattern and light-khaki colours. Marble describes the appearance here, not stone content.
The maker lists Huixiang at 58 mm long, 20 mm wide and 15 mm high. It describes a high-and-low-tone track through the main travel: pushing to one end produces an impact and vibration, while a small returning button at the other end produces a ringing sound. These are the maker's descriptions of this fidget's mechanism, not sounds inherent to PETG.
The long openings, sliding controls and rounded corners are visible in both colours. The article does not name the filament grade, infill or every internal component material, so its PETG specification should not be expanded to every part.
Zhenzhengu: keep the PLA + PETG description intact
The earlier Zhenzhengu takes its shape from a traditional Chinese drum. Yuanhe's July 2025 brand introduction describes it as using a PLA + PETG material combination, made with 3D printing.
The maker describes stepped sound feedback on the top face, and a magnetic-ball vibration mechanism with sound on the underside. These descriptions belong to Zhenzhengu's construction and should not be applied to every PETG fidget.
The source's PLA + PETG description is retained as given. It does not establish whether this means a blended filament or separate parts or regions made from the two plastics. The proportions and component allocation remain undisclosed.
What the G in PETG tells you
Prusa's material guide explains PETG as glycol-modified PET and describes its use in 3D printing. That relationship explains the G; it does not justify renaming an inlay whose source says only PET.
A printed part's behaviour also depends on the filament formulation, layer bonding, print settings and structural design. Those details are not disclosed for the two printed products here. A material supplier's printing advice does not establish Yuanhe's equipment, filament source or test results.
For these EDC pieces, read the full material name, the part it describes and the manufacturing method before considering the product's configuration and care instructions. Keep colours, patterns and play characteristics attached to the product that demonstrates them.
