ResinMatte panels, transparent printed bodies, foil patterns and display supports
Resin has several roles in EDC: a panel under the fingers, a transparent body, a display support or one part of a decorative combination.
Start with the information the maker actually provides, such as photopolymer printing or epoxy, then identify the part. Products described as resin can differ in their particles, foil, forming process and surface finish.
Transparency does not automatically mean PC or acrylic, and low weight does not establish equal strength across resins. These examples keep each weight and tactile claim attached to its product and release conditions.
BPMODS Jinsha and black and white Juma matte resin panels; the surrounding bodies are separate materials.
Matte panels: pattern and contact surface change together
Assembled examples from the matte resin-panel release. These accessories did not include a Little Crystal 2.0 body.
BPMODS divides this accessory group into Jinsha resin and black and white Juma dragon-scale resin. Jinsha combines a black resin base with gold-coloured resin and glitter; the Juma options use gradients and scale patterns. The underlying resin formulations are not disclosed.
The maker presents the matte finish and recessed shape as ways to increase friction during pushing, and lists a panel weight of 5 g. That figure belongs to this accessory group, not to a complete slider; the description is not a standardised friction comparison between resins.
The bronze Sishe snake panels in the same article came with a Little Crystal 2.0 body, whereas the matte resin panels explicitly did not. An assembled photograph and the contents of a purchase are different things.
Crystal Xiao: a transparent body made by photopolymer printing
The photopolymer resin bodies and PC buttons of Crystal Xiao are different parts.
Jiaogepengyou Studio describes Crystal Xiao as a 3D-printed photopolymer resin body paired with finely polished PC buttons. Crystal is part of the version name, not evidence of glass or mineral crystal; the PC buttons are another material.
The blind-box package included buttons, a handmade pouch by Y Jie and a resin body supplied as a gift that was not sold separately. The first batch comprised 30 bodies: 25 clear and 5 translucent pink. Those quantities and package contents apply to that release.
The studio warns that the printed body may have minor bubbles and print-support marks, and should not be expected to match the manufacturing finish of a CNC-machined metal part. This is guidance for that product, not a precision limit for every resin.
Linglong Yun: foil arrangement becomes part of the appearance
TW Rosy Foil Resin Linglong Yun; 12 g is the weight stated for this product version.
TW calls this Linglong Yun version Rosy Foil Resin and attributes the material to American independent maker Jodan Redman. The brand describes the placement of foil and the pouring angle as hand-controlled, producing differences between individual patterns.
The stated 12 g belongs to this product version. The 14.7 g figure for the lab-grown opal version elsewhere in the article does not apply. The resin formulation, foil composition and supplier relationship have not been independently verified here.
Transparent supports: resin does not have to be the fidget body
Transparent resin supports for the Utopia stand. The peach-wood base and brass panels are separate materials; the coin is not included.
The ProxyEDC Utopia stand offers black nylon supports or transparent resin supports. The clear parts leave the displayed toy visually prominent; they do not make the entire stand a single-material resin product.
The source identifies a peach-wood base measuring 210 × 76 × 12 mm, with two brass panels. A recess at the left accommodates the Duya commemorative coin. Those dimensions belong to the wooden base, not to the two transparent supports.
The release included only the stand. The Utopia toy and Duya coin shown in the pictures were not included. No resin grade is disclosed, so its transparency cannot be used to assign PC or acrylic.
Mixtures and combinations: coffee, wood and resin
MTAK describes the Latte colourway of CHEERS 60% as milk-coffee-coloured resin mixed with ground coffee, paired with coffee-coloured casting resin. The colour and added material are stated separately, but the resin grade is not given and the source does not establish a retained coffee scent.
YEDC lists four options for its second-generation display stand: walnut, walnut with epoxy resin, honghuali wood, and honghuali wood with epoxy resin. Epoxy provides a more specific material description; the wood remains another component of the combination.
The maker estimated about one month for the wood-only options and about one and a half months for the epoxy combinations, attributing the longer schedule to managing deformation. This was the production plan for that release, not a fixed lead time or performance rule for all wood-and-epoxy products.
Separate the formulation from the forming process
The Formlabs SLA guide explains how light cures liquid photopolymer resin into plastic parts, and how formulations vary in optical, mechanical and thermal properties. That explains a process; it does not establish that Crystal Xiao used Formlabs materials or equipment.
Clear, matte, scale-patterned and foil-filled describe appearance. Photopolymer printing describes a forming process, while epoxy gives a chemical-family clue. Keeping each description attached to its part makes resin EDC easier to understand. Undisclosed grades, ratios and post-processing conditions remain unknown.
