SiliconeWork surfaces, feet, protective covers and internal adjustment rings
Silicone often sits at a contact point: between a toy and a desk, or between parts. Identify the task of that component before interpreting damping, cushioning or sliding feel.
A compartmented workbench, small pads beneath a wooden stand, quiet feet under a desk accessory and a protective toy cover can all use material explicitly described as silicone. In these products it works alongside leather, wood, metal and other polymers.
This page follows the component relationships in the maker sources. The products do not disclose a common silicone formulation or grade, and claims about damping, smoothness and quietness remain specific to their configurations.
WORKBENCH combines a silicone body with a cowhide pad. The toys and tools demonstrate the storage layout.
WORKBENCH: silicone compartments beside a leather pad
Proxy shapes the silicone body of WORKBENCH into compartments around a cowhide pad. Long slots, small holes and differently sized recesses accommodate tools, screws, beads and toys. The photos place compliant contact surfaces beside metal objects, while protection still depends on how the workbench is used.
The maker lists three combinations: Wilderness pairs avocado-green silicone with dark-brown leather; Smokefield uses dark-grey silicone with dark-brown leather; VoidSea mixes water-blue and translucent silicone beside light-brown leather. The experimental two-colour mix gives VoidSea a random pattern, rather than establishing another base material.
The stated 38 × 27 × 1.3 cm describes the finished workbench. The leather pad measures 25.8 × 21 cm and is 4 mm thick. The maker explicitly says it is not a rubber cutting mat and advises avoiding sharp cutting tools. A cushioning work surface is not automatically a cutting surface.
The silicone compartments and central leather pad are separate parts. The maker states that this workbench is not a rubber cutting mat.
Stand feet: surface contact and added weight are different jobs
RYAN provides The Wave with a North American walnut stand, a brass nameplate at the front, six silicone pads underneath and a central stainless-steel disc as ballast. The pads contact the desk while the disc adds mass; these should not be combined into one generic anti-slip material.
The 42 mm and 56 g figures in the source describe the PEI-and-stainless-steel spinner, not the silicone pads or wooden stand. The front and underside photographs show how the parts fit into the same display arrangement.

Jackpot Deskset: silicone is one part of the underside
LAUTIE fits the Jackpot 2.0 desk version, named Jackpot Deskset, with silicone quiet feet and integrated tool storage. Quiet describes the maker’s intended role for those feet; it is not a measurement showing that the whole device makes no sound.
The release offered complete and dice-free versions. Owners of the existing handle version could transfer their dice into the desk base. That package choice concerns the complete assembly; it does not make its wheels, housing or tools the same material as its feet.
The Jackpot Deskset combines silicone quiet feet with tool storage underneath.
Protective covers: damping can work against smooth sliding
TIER I provides a black-and-grey silicone cover for Mini Guandan in zirconium. The maker describes protection and damping as its purposes, but also notes a conflict between silicone damping and the smooth movement of the zirconium product. The covers were therefore supplied with two patches described as Teflon to improve sliding inside.
Two contact materials work together here: the cover provides enclosure and damping, while the patches modify the sliding interface. More damping is not automatically better, and the details of this covered version should not be extended to every zirconium Guandan.
Under a magnet: a soft silicone ring provides local adjustment
AMMO supplies a low-hardness silicone ring for configurations of Wormhole that need a tighter fit, positioning it beneath the traction magnet. It is an internal adjustment part, distinct from the G10 body, metal panels and magnet itself.
The source also specifies a designed clearance of 0.05 mm in all directions between the middle plate and body. That number is neither silicone-ring thickness nor a manufacturing tolerance. Low hardness is not accompanied by a numerical Shore hardness.
Read silicone through its part and grade
These examples range from a large workbench to stand feet, a cover and a small ring under a magnet. Their scale and contact tasks differ. Rubber, anti-slip pad or a black, flexible appearance alone does not establish silicone identity.
Shin-Etsu Polymer lists hardness, tensile properties and compression set by grade in its silicone-rubber sheet information, including a separate conductive grade. Silicone rubber therefore does not imply one fixed property value. The EDC sources do not disclose grades that can be matched to those industrial sheets.
