Tiger’s eye brings patterned stone to a small, prominent part of an EDC spinner. Ziii’s Element buttons frame it in dark zirconium, drawing attention to the bands and reflected light at your fingertips.

This guide follows one button set through its stone face, metal pairing and fitting requirements. The gemstone name, button dimensions and spinner-body material each describe a different part of the configuration.

Golden-brown bands, with a play of light

Tiger’s eye is a chatoyant variety of quartz. GIA’s mineralogical review attributes this optical effect to aligned fibrous mineral inclusions; the familiar golden-brown colour relates to the alteration of iron-bearing minerals. Its appeal lies in the bands and silky reflections, as well as how they respond to light and viewing angle.

In Ziii’s photograph, bright golden bands cross a brown stone face framed by dark metal. This captures one lighting arrangement. How the light bands appear as a particular piece is turned depends on its cut and illumination; this still image cannot establish the strength of that effect.

02 / Product and component

Element V1: the stone belongs to the buttons

Ziii lists this 24.5 mm Element V1 set as Zirc+Tiger’s Eye. The close-up shows a stone face within a metal surround. The two materials describe the button set, rather than the entire spinner to which it might be fitted.

The January 2025 Dawn Mini announcement also lists tiger’s eye with zirconium among the separate Element buttons. The spinner bodies have their own steel, titanium, zirconium and tungsten options. Reading the buttons and body separately makes the configuration clear.

03 / Dimensions and fitting

24.5 mm describes the buttons—not universal fit

For the illustrated V1 listing, Ziii gives a button diameter of 24.5 mm and a full-set thickness of 12.7 mm, and specifies an R188 bearing and press-fit arrangement. Matching diameter alone does not establish compatibility with another spinner.

The January 2025 announcement gives Element button thickness as 12.8 mm. The sources do not explain the 0.1 mm difference. This guide retains 12.7 mm for the illustrated website listing; check the relevant version before fitting. Full-set thickness is not stone-insert thickness.

Look at the individual face

Compare the direction of the bands, the light and dark areas, and the way the stone sits visually against its metal edge. Ziii’s January 2025 announcement describes gemstone patterns as variable; the photograph does not promise identical markings on every set.

The product listing describes the tiger’s eye as natural and includes a Certificate of Authenticity. It does not show a gem-laboratory report tied to these stones or specify treatment status. A maker’s accompanying certificate is distinct from independent gem testing.
