Tungsten CopperDark silver surfaces, substantial bodies and internal inserts
In EDC, tungsten copper is worth understanding through weight and placement: it can form a substantial Noiz, or appear as a separate insert inside the Taie Sword.
Containing copper does not mean a finished object has the warm colour of copper. LAUTIE’s dark silver finish offers a specific example of how this material can look.
The examples below separate finished-product weight, surface treatment and components that use tungsten copper only in one part of the assembly.

Noiz-Classic: what the 294 g figure describes
LAUTIE’s July 2021 release retains the Noiz-Classic shape, identifies this version as CuW90 tungsten copper and gives a weight of 294 g per fidget. For players who enjoy a substantial object in the hand, that is a direct specification to compare.
The figure describes the finished product, rather than a shell alone or the material’s density. The article introduces the subject with a comparison between pure tungsten and gold. Tungsten copper is a copper-containing composite, so the relevant number for this Noiz is its stated 294 g product weight—not the density of pure tungsten.
Copper-containing material, dark silver finish
LAUTIE describes multiple stages of hand finishing that use the hardness difference between tungsten and copper to produce this dark silver surface.
In the close-up, the curved recesses appear silver-grey, with darker areas inside and along the grooves. Small changes in the surface catch the light. The appearance comes from both the material and its finish.
LAUTIE describes using the hardness difference between tungsten and copper through multiple hand-finishing stages, removing copper at the surface to leave tungsten exposed. That description applies to this surface treatment; it does not mean copper has been removed from the entire object. The material remains identified as CuW90.
Taie Sword: tungsten copper in the core insert
WANWU’s January 2025 Taie Sword update lists tungsten-copper core inserts separately. They should be distinguished from the exterior inlays of the Four Gentlemen versions introduced in the same article.
The core insert is a material choice for an internal contact area. The plum, orchid, bamboo and chrysanthemum decoration on the scabbard, its zirconium-alloy exterior and other metal inserts have their own descriptions. Calling the whole toy tungsten copper would erase the component distinction.
The maker describes the insert in terms of wear and lubrication. Without independent wear or friction testing, or a comparison under matching conditions, that description does not establish that the assembly will never bind.
A different scale: Jingji’s three-arm version
An LQ release preview for the three-arm Jingji lists a tungsten-copper version at 155 g, with production conditional on orders reaching ten pieces. These are figures from that particular preorder plan, rather than a statement of current availability.
The same material name appears on a 294 g Noiz and a 155 g three-arm spinner, but their shapes, dimensions and overall configurations differ. Comparing how much weight you want to handle requires the product as well as the material name.
How tungsten and copper form the material
Manufacturers describe tungsten copper as a tungsten–copper composite. One common production route starts with a porous, sintered tungsten skeleton, which is then infiltrated with copper. It is not simply a layer of tungsten plated onto copper.
Properties vary with composition and manufacturing conditions. The manufacturer references explain the material family; they do not identify the suppliers or certify the composition of the EDC examples on this page.
