WANDER Z EDC × METACORE EDC Quake Drum

Quake Drum turns a traditional drum’s outline into a round hand-held fidget. Its two early printed/luminous configurations are METACORE products. WANDER Z and METACORE later co-created the two PEI finishes and the Heng/Ha luminous designs; this guide keeps all six configurations and their maker boundaries distinct.

6 complete-configuration records

Six complete configurations cover two early METACORE drums, two PEI finishes and two Heng/Ha luminous designs. The groups aid browsing; each configuration retains its material, maker and quantity scope.

Names identify documented complete configurations. Material differences and browse groups do not establish official sub-series; components and included items are listed separately.

Table dates refer to the documentation, not necessarily the release. Confirmed release and quantity information appears in each record.

01

Two drum faces, three PEI actions

The PEI drum combines a ratchet face, a Bucky-ball vibration face and rolling of the body.

The maker describes high and low tones at the ratchet face, while the Bucky-ball face emphasizes vibration. Rolling the body moves both faces together and adds a third action.

Start with the action you want: rhythmic sound, ball-face vibration or body rolling. The ratchet and ball faces have different roles; the three actions use the two faces and the body.

Support the body; the holding position is schematic.

Part and relative-action schematic, not a scaled reconstruction; arrows specify no fixed direction, tooth count or internal ball positions.

  1. Support the body; the holding position is schematic.
  2. The ratchet face provides high/low tones; the ball face provides vibration.
  3. Roll the body to move both faces together.
02

Machined PEI bodies and internally engraved luminous faces

The PEI process focuses on the drum body, while the Heng/Ha luminous process focuses on its artwork; the early configurations keep their own process scope.

The PEI production account records five-axis machining for the round body engraving and 30 hand-set studs. It also describes changing one part to a 3D-printed material to reduce production cost.

The Heng/Ha luminous figures are laser-engraved from inside. The maker describes this as a way to protect the artwork from rubbing during play; this process belongs to the luminous designs.

03

Choose a finish or a figure

Polished and sandblasted are PEI finish choices; Heng and Ha are the figures in the luminous pair.

Choose polished PEI for the polished finish. The maker notes that sound and feel testing can leave fine handling marks; sandblasted PEI offers the other finish choice. Both use the shared PEI model references.

In the luminous pair, Heng has a closed mouth and a prominent nose; Ha has an open mouth with visible teeth. Start with PEI if you prefer the machined body and finish choices, or the Heng/Ha pair if luminous engraving and paired artwork are the priority.

The early ordinary drum is documented by its 3D printing and overall PLA + PETG composition. The early luminous version added factory high/low-tone tuning. That earlier version and the Heng/Ha artwork drums remain separate records, with no material inheritance.

04

Check whether the object is one drum or the pair

The PEI offer was per drum; the Heng/Ha exhibition text presents a two-drum set.

Heng and Ha appear separately in the directory so each figure can be identified. The 50-set / 100-piece quantity belongs to their shared exhibition pair. The PEI finishes retain separate quantity scopes: 137 in the polished announcement, while the sandblasted quantity was to follow completed assembly.

When identifying a particular item, check its named design, finish and set members, then read the packaging and separate-sale scope in that configuration’s details.

05

From METACORE printing to the documented collaboration

The official accounts trace Quake Drum from METACORE’s first printed product to CNC work with WANDER Z and the separately named Heng/Ha luminous collaboration.

The early drum introduced on 7 July 2025 used PLA + PETG overall and was 3D printed. That material statement belongs to the early product and supplies no missing specification for later PEI or luminous drums.

The 28 July luminous version had factory high/low-tone tuning and a stated plan for small-quantity sales. Its material grade, weight, dimensions and total output were not supplied. At least five prizes described an event pool, not production. Luminous appearance does not make it a Heng or Ha drum.
