SEKI Shengdan Egg

The Shengdan Egg is SEKI’s line of press-action pendants. On the Space edition, a tiny astronaut occupies the front, while the projecting post is left clear for your thumb. A turn at the opposite end locks the button for carrying.

TRB WIKI VERIFIED SPECIFICATION

Documented points

Core structural rules and edition specifications verified across the SEKI Shengdan Egg pendant family.

Space Egg uses an internal gear stop to produce staged travel and pop feedback; its sliding press post integrates a cord-retaining port while the rotary base switch locks the button for necklace carry.

The Dec 2024 Space Egg combines a stainless-steel base with colored zirconium and white-copper inlays (17×17×37.8 mm, under 40 g, 150 per visor color); the May 2025 Shanghai Show added a Black Zirconium version (50 show units).

SEKI’s annual Shengdan lineage progresses from the Egyptian Egg to the Christmas Rabbit and Space Egg; the studio’s VIP catalogue itemizes five distinct entries across Egyptian, Rabbit (Brass/Steel), and Space (Steel/Zirconium).

01

What does the press feel like?

Start at the two ends of the Space Egg. The projecting post is the push button. The ring below the astronaut’s boots is the rotary lock.

With the button unlocked, press the post. SEKI attributes the distinct stages of travel and the pop that follows to a gear stop. For necklace or lanyard carry, turn the switch at the base to lock the button. A cord retainer on the sliding post provides the attachment point.

A contemporary account described the Rabbit’s rhythm as two presses for one pop. For the Space release, SEKI described a gear stop and a rotary lock. When comparing examples, look for the projecting post and then the lock at the opposite end. The two accounts describe different releases.

On the blue-visored steel Space Egg in the launch demonstration, the top post retracts and extends along the body axis. Turning the base locks or unlocks the button.

Pressing the top moves the post inward along the body.

Based on the blue-visored steel sample in SEKI’s launch film. The diagram shows exterior motion only. The base’s direction and turning angle are unspecified.

  1. Pressing the top moves the post inward along the body.
  2. The post then extends along the same axis in the film.
  3. Turn the base to lock or unlock the post. Locking helps prevent accidental presses while worn.

The photograph shows the dark-visored steel specimen. The motion diagram is keyed to the blue-visored steel specimen in SEKI’s launch film.

Read the motif, then check the material

The Egyptian, Rabbit and Space designs separate first by their front motifs. An astronaut face also calls for a check of the release.

On the Egyptian Egg, an eye with a red center sits above a winged scarab. SEKI lists the Christmas Rabbit twice, once in brass and once in stainless steel. The studio also called it the original Shengdan Rabbit when it introduced the Space Egg. Both Rabbit names refer to the same design.

SEKI announced the Xiaomang special edition on December 28, 2024, with the sale scheduled for December 31 at 19:00. SEKI describes a stainless-steel base with colored zirconium and white-copper inlays. In the studio’s original launch group photograph, a darker body and purple-looking visor sit beside a brighter body and blue-looking visor. The individual photograph on this page shows the former. SEKI announced a limit of 150 per color. Shanghai’s 2025 show introduced a black zirconium version. The studio said its weight and feel differed from the stainless edition without specifying which was heavier.

Which parts belong to the pendant?

Hide details ▴Show details ▾

The features used for pressing and carrying the Space Egg are built into the body.

The sliding post is both a control and a cord-retaining point. The rotary piece at the opposite end locks the button. In the carry photos, a necklace or a nearby slider illustrates a way to use the pendant. For a pre-owned example, check the included cord or chain separately. The release did not itemize the contents of the box.

One patch in SEKI’s nine-piece Beijing show set carried the Egg design. The patches could also be obtained in blind bags and were meant for a bag or similar surface. Rum appears beside the Egg in the studio’s early description of press mechanisms, but receives a separate heading in its later catalogue.

How to choose a configuration

Choose the action and motif first, then compare finishes.

For a button you can lock while wearing the pendant, begin with the stainless Space release. SEKI gives the two colors a shared specification of 17 × 17 × 37.8 mm and less than 40 g. For the Rabbit, match the seller’s material description to the documented brass or stainless configuration. Under mixed light, color alone is a weak material test.

For the black zirconium Space Egg, look for documentation that ties the example to that release. SEKI announced 50 units for sale during the show. That number describes the event allocation. The darker pendant in the original stainless release is still stainless; visor color does not establish the shell material.

Inspect the working ends

On the Space Egg branch, find the sliding press post above the helmet and the rotary lock ring below the boots.

Check the Rabbit material

The maker lists Brass and Stainless Steel separately under Christmas Rabbit. Match the seller’s material tag to the documented entry.

Identify the Egyptian motif

Look for the red-centered eye above a winged scarab on the front shell, listed separately in SEKI’s catalogue.

SEKI’s release supplies the stainless Space Egg’s controls, dimensions and edition size. Its annual catalogue supplies the edition names and both Rabbit materials.

In December 2023, Youbing EDC reported 60 of each Rabbit material. A different photographed specimen is marked 15/90. SEKI has not clarified which production runs those figures describe. The official Rabbit quantities remain unknown. The earliest brass Egg report also does not establish that the piece was the later-named Egyptian Egg.

The paired photo in the Shanghai announcement uses the same composition as an earlier stainless-release photo. It cannot establish the zirconium version’s appearance. The two stainless color labels used here describe the appearance in the maker’s photographs; the release text does not give them separate official color names. The directory uses a separate store photograph of a piece documented alongside its numbered black-zirconium label and card.

This guide covers five entries supported by SEKI’s catalogue and announcements. Other names in historical shop records still lack an item-by-item maker identification.

SEKI Shengdan Egg and Rum: shared press-egg origin and catalogue separation

In SEKI’s inaugural studio announcement, Shengdan Egg and Rum were introduced side by side under the same “press egg” (弹压蛋) mechanism heading, whereas the December 2025 VIP catalogue assigns them separate sections.

Documented mechanism and catalogue comparison between SEKI Shengdan Egg and SEKI Rum
Dimension SEKI Shengdan Egg This Family SEKI Rum Peer Reference
Early mechanism grouping Named alongside Rum under SEKI’s early “press egg” (弹压蛋) spring/gear ejection category. Paired with Shengdan Egg in the studio’s inaugural press-mechanism overview.
2026 VIP catalogue structure Itemized under its own Shengdan heading with 5 entries: Egyptian, Rabbit (Brass/Steel), and Space (Steel/Zirconium). Assigned a separate family heading in the annual VIP catalogue.
Space Egg carry & lock features The 2024 Space Egg explicitly documents a gear stop, sliding-post cord retainer, and rotary base lock below the boots. Follows its own release specifications; Space Egg rotary-lock details do not transfer across families.

This comparison reflects documented studio classifications and does not establish cross-family part interchangeability.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Common questions about SEKI Shengdan Egg

Do the purple-visor and blue-visor Space Egg pendants have different body materials?

No. Both visor colors in the December 28, 2024 launch announcement belong to the stainless-steel Space Egg edition with colored zirconium and white-copper inlays (sharing the 17 × 17 × 37.8 mm and under-40 g specification, limited to 150 per color). Verify the 2025 Shanghai Black Zirconium edition through its package label and numbered card.

TRB Wiki verified specification · 2024-12-28 release record

How do the press post, cord retainer and rotary base lock work together on the Space Egg?

The top sliding post serves as both the thumb press actuator (paired with an internal gear stop) and the cord-retaining port. Turning the rotary switch below the astronaut’s boots locks the button so it cannot be accidentally pressed while worn on a necklace.

Which Christmas Rabbit materials are separately documented by SEKI?

SEKI’s December 25, 2025 VIP catalogue lists Christmas Rabbit · Brass and Christmas Rabbit · Stainless Steel as separate entries; the studio also referred to this design as the original Shengdan Rabbit when introducing the Space Egg.
